I have heard that Nitrile gloves don't break down as easily when you get chemicals on them like thinner or brake cleaner. Is that true?

Nitrile gloves are manufactured from synthetic rubber, specifically nitrile butadiene rubber. Unlike natural latex, nitrile does not come from plant-based materials, which is why tends to last longer than vinyl and resist tearing when exposed to harsher substances. Because nitrile is a synthetic compound, manufacturers can adjust its formulation to enhance certain properties like chemical resistance. In practical terms, nitrile gloves offer reliable resistance to a wide range of commonly used chemicals including paints, coatings, adhesives, and cleaning solutions because they provide a protective barrier without sacrificing comfort.
